Nikon Z6 / Z7 - New Firmware 3.0 - How AF Tracking Works Now

My Nikon Z7 gallery is here (many photos): https://www.thephotographyhobbyist.com/CAMERAGEAR/Nikon-Z7-Gallery/
And my Z50 gallery is here: https://www.thephotographyhobbyist.com/CAMERAGEAR/Nikon-Z50-Gallery/
I meant to say say I was recording this with my Nikon Z50. Sorry. Also sorry that the white and yellow tracking box is a little difficult to see. The screen was a little brighter than I though so it's slightly over exposed. :-(

The purpose of this video is just to talk about the difference in the process of how you use AF tracking after the firmware 3.0 update. The process for using AF tracking is much improved, faster and more logical now.

Overall I'm really pleased with the new firmware. I rarely use AF-C or tracking for stills, but this change makes it easier for me to use if I need to use it.

The cat/dog Eye AF is VERY quick and so far seems accurate. Very happy with that change too! For details about how the cat/dog AF works and the related settings, check out Nikon's Digitutor video related to that new feature: https://youtu.be/wkLjvr0XMic

You can learn more about the changes/improvements made on Nikon's web site: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/mirrorless-cameras/firmware-three-point-zero.page
