Hello everyone! Thank you to all of my new subscribers! I tried a different technique with this video, encouraging you to simply watch and find the details of what I did and the materials I used here in the description. Give me your feedback on your favorite format!

For this galaxy pour, I used "The Paper Company" brand vinyl with a galaxy pattern. I found this at Hobby Lobby and the whole brand was 1/2 off on the day that I went. I snagged two sheets of this for only $1.50 each. I used a wooden "canvas" that I purchased at Meijer in their clearance section for $2.00 and cut the vinyl to size (incorrectly!) and stuck it to the wood.

I still did a typical pour using Total Boat quick curing resin as well as Apple Barrel black craft paint and Pearl Ex Pigment Powders in Lavender, Pearl and Duo Blue Green. I covered probably 80%-90% of the vinyl, but that created SO MUCH MORE depth. I am really happy with how it turned out. I added chunky sparkle nail polish from the dollar store. Be careful when using nail polish because it can yellow in resin. But since it was in black, I think it turned out great! I put it in the bottom layer and it seemed to blend very well with my other colors and pigments once I layered everything.

I used a dotting tool that I found on Amazon to create each of the layers of stars, alternating between smaller and larger dots. I was given some gem stickers from my amazing artist friend Carrie Wooden. She encouraged me to try my first galaxy pour and this was the fun result. You can purchase those online or at Hobby Lobby as well, at least in the USA Midwest.

To finish the piece, I reheated the bottom edge to soften my resin and carefully scraped my painter's tape off with a razor blade.

I hope you enjoy my video! Thank you as always for watching and have a great day!
