How Blood Sweat and T-shirts made her a TV activist | Stacey Dooley | 5x15 x Bright New Things 2016

Stacey Dooley is one of Britain's most loved documentary presenters. Fashion conscious Stacey's life took an unexpected turn when she travelled to India in 2007 for the BBC3 series Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts to live and work alongside the people in the Indian fashion industry making clothes for the UK High Street. Upon her return to the UK, Stacey began campaigning against child labour, organising events to raise money for charities and has since embarked on a series of investigations both at home and abroad. Her series, Stacey Dooley Investigates addressed topics ranging from sex trafficking to underage sex slavery in Cambodia and the dark side of tourism in Thailand and Kenya. Stacey has also presented four series of Show Me What You’re Made Of for CBBC, in which young British children adopt the lifestyles of child factory workers abroad. In 2015, her BBC3 documentary Beaten By My Boyfriend looked at domestic abuse in the UK, and another series investigated cannabis smuggling.

5x15 brings together five outstanding individuals to tell of their lives, passions and inspirations. There are only two rules - no scripts and only 15 minutes each.
