Strange World is a modern TTRPG about ordinary people becoming extraordinary as a mysterious interstellar object, known as IO, approaches Earth in 2026. As IO gets closer, exohumans begin to awaken. Strength, durability, flight, strange powers, public exposure, government heat, personal weaknesses, and impossible choices all become part of the story.

In this walkthrough, I show you the Strange World Player’s Handbook, explain the basic premise of the game, and guide you through the character creation process step by step. We cover identity, occupation, economic level, aptitudes, skill sets, exo points, story points, weaknesses, limitations, and exohuman powers.

You can use Strange World to run superhero stories, supervillain stories, conspiracy campaigns, modern paranormal games, or grounded “ordinary people becoming powerful” campaigns.
