Stop-Motion Transformation of Hasbro MPM-4 Movie Masterpiece Optimus Prime. The music syncing up perfectly at the transition between “to robot” and “to truck” at 1:43 is a complete coincidence. It would take more time to strech and squeeze the segments to hit with the music and it ties the video to the particular music piece. But it was a rather happy accident. Sorry the song is overused, but I set up the sync with the opening credits already and it’s my favorite song in the library for Meixsell, especially the bit at 1:43.

Figure note:
This is an amazing figure. I got one from the first run of these that had some QC issues that prevent the truck from stitching together cleanly. If you’re careful you can get one from the later runs that fixed the issue (or so I’m told). Regardless of how you feel about bayformers, if you like Takara’s brand of intricate-yet-elegant engineering work you should have this thing. The whole MPM line has been stellar so far. I’m looking forward to Ironhide later this year.

It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.
