Flying to Madeira from the UK / Arriving in Funchal

Join us at the beginning of our new adventures on the beautiful Island of Madeira, part of Portugal but off the North West coast of Africa! In this first instalment, we take the 3.5 hour flight from the UK and take in some stunning views on route. Once landed, we collect our hire car and then go in search of our holiday rental in Funchal.

We literally booked this break at the last minute when Elaine spotted the villa available for rent at an unbelievable low cost, £500 instead of the usual £1,100! A property that sleeps 8, with pool and views overlooking Funchal! We couldn’t believe our luck…
