The coil was built by Greg Leyh, a California electrical engineer and scientist. The construction of the 40-foot Tesla coil tower was completed in October 2018. The coil can shoot up to 60-foot lightning bolts and generate 3 million volts of electricity. A rep from Guinness World Records was at the event to certify the coil as the world's most powerful coil.
