Five Tips for New Cardmakers

I have five tips for new and beginning cardmakers to share in today's video. I started card making in 2017 and I know a thing or two about sustaining the hobbies I love. Trust me—I had a jewelry making phase that burned brightly for about two months, cost me a ridiculous amount of money and I have exactly nothing to show for it. Tips 2-4 are what made card making click for this long time scrapbooker. That is the perspective I am sharing today.

Keep in mind, these are just tips and they are not scientifically proven in any controlled setting other than my craft/slash dining. I have not received FDA approval as of yet. But come along if you're new and I'll share what I think I know!

And please: REMEMBER TIP NO. 1 and Tip 5. Those matter most.

You do not necessarily have to have a die cut machine to cut out stamped images, of course! Fussy cutting is another way to do it, but… coordinating dies are pretty awesome to work with, ergo, die cut machine! You can also use a Scan and Cut, which I personally have never used.

CABINET INFO: I had both of my cabinets built in 2006 by a maker who created shelving for the chain of scrapbook stores in Minnesota (now defunct) called Archivers. He does not make those cabinets anymore unfortunately. I spent about $600 on each. Worth every penny.
