7NEWS Sydney NSW government pledges $1 million for defibrillators for sporting clubs

"Former Yellow Wiggle and heart attack survivor Greg Page has backed a NSW government campaign to ensure sporting clubs have a defibrillator handy at grounds to prepare for cardiac arrest.

Between 2014-2016, there were 18 heart attacks during sport in New South Wales. Fifteen couldn't be saved.

Since then, and the emergence of defibrillators, of 21 heart attacks, 17 people have been saved.

The state government today announcing another $1 million to subsidise the cost of defibrillators for sports teams.
