If you haven't seen Part 1, watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCnE13BaQlk
His truck, the Vet Chef has grown its profits every year since it opened in 2016, and this trend shows no signs of slowing. The food truck’s current sales have reached the mid-six figures, a benchmark any restaurant owner should be proud of.
In the second half of our interview, the Vet Chef founder gets into the details of starting a food truck, from finding funding to creating the recipes. He’ll also share his food truck business plan and some keys for success—as well as common pitfalls you should avoid.
Chef Gourlie served in the United States Marine Corps for four and a half years. His military career ended when he was injured in 2008. The dedication he learned as a Marine has helped him grow his food truck business, and his inspiring story helped drive business to his truck.
Chef Gourlie has used that success to help other veterans build business skills and find employment opportunities.
Along with his military experience, Chef Gourlie is a classically-trained chef with a passion for Mexican food. The quality of his food is a big reason why the Vet Chef has been so successful.
