Responsibility to receive New Year 2023🥰🙏

At this time of the year it is very natural to feel a sense of excitement, euphoria and renewed hope. As we celebrate Christmas and the New Year we get together with family and old friends and we are blessed to have this time of joy and jubilation. In our community oriented society, we have many unique and wonderful customs that bring us together as one. We bring cakes and sweets and fruit and chicken and offers prayers to one another and all sort of gifts to our neighbors and friends. We visit each other and look out for one another. We care about each other when we encounter difficulty or become sick, in a way that other societies do not. When one of us is hurt, we all feel the pain.

Therefore, this year I want to just give a little message of how we can celebrate the New Year in a more considerate and peaceful way as a community.

We should remember that our environment is very important and God has blessed us to be born in a very beautiful place, with amazing scenery and sense of wonder. Although people enjoy setting off fireworks and crackers to ring in the New Year, I would urge us to do it in a controlled and unified way, and not to do randomly from your own property, disturbing your neighbors, upsetting animals and putting yourself and others in danger.

If you wish to ring in the new year in such a way, it would be better to attend official celebrations as for example, we from Mokokchung we gather at police point for the whole town, which is managed by experienced technicians, where we can gather safely together to view the beautiful arrangements and in doing so reduce the unfair and unwarranted noise and air pollution in residential areas. Ofcourse it would be better again to attend and enjoy the New Year's service at one's own local churches to give thanks to God as we enter 2023. In any case please be considerate of your neighbors especially elderly people, sick people and think of their health and well-being before setting off loud crackers in their Vicinity.

From this channel I would encourage the children not to set off or misuse crackers and be obedient and disciplined as our parents and teachers had taught us to be a sensible and a responsible citizen.
