Nepal reiterates commitment to settle border issues with India via diplomatic negotiations talks

Nepal has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving border-related issues with India through diplomatic dialogue, emphasizing mutual discussions and established channels as both countries continue engagement over disputed areas along the open border governed by the Sugauli Treaty of 1816. The Nepal Foreign Ministry highlighted ongoing technical cooperation on mapping, border pillars, and data collection, while India reiterated that territorial claims, including those related to Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura, are not justified and must be addressed through existing diplomatic mechanisms. Both sides have expressed willingness to continue constructive engagement to manage differences and maintain long-standing bilateral relations.
