2021 C8 Corvette Z51 [First Drive & Full Review]

First drive and full review of the all new 2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z51 2LT. This 2021 C8 Corvette is finished in Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat ($995 option) and has a 2LT preferred equipment package with a Natural interior.

This 2LT package gives you a Bose performance series 14 speaker audio system, head-up display, cargo nets, HD front curb view camera, a memory driver and passenger convenience package, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with navigation, performance data and video recorder, heated and ventilated seats, power lumbar control and power seat bolsters, heated steering wheel, advanced theft-deterrent system, universal home remote, wireless charging, power heated outside adjustable power folding mirror with turn indicators and auto dimming on the driver side, rear cross traffic alert and side blind zone alert.

This also has the Z51 Performance package ($5,995) which gives you Z51 Performance Brakes, Z51 Performance Suspension, Performance Exhaust, Performance Rear Axle Ratio, Electronic Limited Slip Differential, Z51 Rear Spoiler, High Performance tires- Run Flat (winter tires on our tested model) and a heavy duty cooling system.

Additional options: GT2 bucket seats ($1,495), Front Lift- with memory ($1,995), Edge Red painted brake calipers ($595), Z51 Performance Suspension with Magnetic Ride control ($1,895), Engine Appearance Package ($995)

The interior of the Corvette C8 is so unique with the square/circle steering wheel and the cockpit design of the interior. The mid-engine design is a first for the Chevrolet Corvette and also the first time Corvette has put a hard top on a convertible model. The C8 pricing starts at $59,995 for the Coupe and $67,495 for the Convertible and both give you 495 horsepower with the performance exhaust!

In my last review. I tested the launch control and it was extremely fast and fun. Winding up the vehicle to 3500 RPM and letting off the brake was such an exhilarating experience.

The 2020 C8 Corvette by Chevrolet has a 8 speed dual clutch transmission or 8 speed DCT. The engine is a LT2 6.2L Small Block V8 with 495hp when equipped with performance exhaust and 470 lb/ft. torque.

The Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat replaces the Long Beach Red Metallic color for the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette.

Another new color for the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette is Silver Flare, which will replace Blade Silver.

I filmed this video in 4K on a Sony A6500 camera with a Sigma 16 F1.4 lens to try and bring you the best quality footage possible.

I can’t wait to see what’s to come from Corvette and am looking forward to the C8 Z06 or whatever they decide to name it.
