MGM Gold Tier Status Match Hack | Did We Find a Loophole in Las Vegas?

We’ve been reading a lot lately about status match loopholes. While there are several ways to go about doing it, most are only available for a limited time. Right now, you have until June 30, 2024 to status match under MGM’s current promotion. Keep in mind, once you status match, your elevated tier is only valid for 90 days, at which time, unless you’ve earned the tier credits necessary to stay in that tier, they’ll drop you back to your earned status.

We obtained our Caesars Diamond Status through the Wyndham Earner Business credit card. If you want to learn more about that, check out this video

We were hoping to use that Diamond status to match to MGM Gold. Unfortunately, MGM changed the rules of their status matching program so we now need Caesars Diamond Plus to get Gold. Well, we aren’t going to earn that, so we’ve been searching for a way to match our Caesars Diamond status to another program that would give us the tier status we need to match to MGM Gold.

On our last trip to Atlantic City, we were able to match our Caesars Diamond status to Icon status with Unity by Hard Rock. Now, for some reason, even though Caesars Diamond won’t get us MGM Gold, Icon with Hard Rock is on the list.

We are now Gold with MGM for 90 days from today. Keep in mind, there are many casinos belonging to these groups around the country, so you do have other options if you don’t want to spend the time during your Vegas vacation.

Just to get ahead of some likely comments and questions, we don’t know how the renovation of Mirage/Hard Rock in Vegas will affect status match programs. But, since Hard Rock has other properties around the country, we hope it will remain an option for status matching.
