Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) is one of the pillars of Western music—a composer whose work feels both rigorously crafted and deeply alive. Active in Germany as an organist, teacher, and Kapellmeister, he wrote music for almost every genre of his time: soaring sacred works, intricate keyboard pieces, and luminous chamber music. What makes Bach timeless is the way his counterpoint turns into pure emotion—multiple voices moving independently, yet perfectly connected. Whether in a quiet prelude or a monumental chorale, his music can feel like order, faith, and wonder all at once—and it still speaks with extraordinary clarity today.

The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I is Bach’s landmark cycle of 24 paired Preludes and Fugues, one in every major and minor key, moving chromatically from C major to B minor. Written as both a creative showcase and a musical training ground, it proves how expressive a keyboard can be: some preludes feel like calm meditations, others like dances, inventions, or improvisations—while each fugue turns a single theme into a living conversation between voices.
More than a collection of pieces, Book I is a whole universe—where Bach’s clear architecture and limitless imagination come together, and where the music feels both brilliantly constructed and deeply moving.

In the Prelude and Fugue No. 3 in C-sharp major, BWV 848, Johann Sebastian Bach combines clarity, balance, and expressive depth in a refined example of contrapuntal art. The Prelude unfolds with flowing elegance, its bright character shaped by graceful movement and harmonic poise. In contrast, the Fugue reveals Bach’s extraordinary mastery of counterpoint, weaving independent melodic lines into a harmonious and intricate musical architecture.
