Project Mercury Training/Promotional Film

From the USA National Archives - a film which shows various training operations during the build-up to the
first astronaut crewed Mercury-Redstone mission and astronauts participating in promotion of the program.

The first part of the film shows various pad operations, including spacecraft operation and Shepard practicing
emergency egress from Pad 5, where his MR-3 spacecraft and MR7 Redstone rocket are already in situ.
There is no audio for this segment.

The second part of the film shows the three designated prime astronauts for the first mission Alan Shepard,
Gus Grissom and John Glenn are shown at the end of the film - Shepard at the CapCom station in Mercury
Control Center in Florida, Glenn in the clean room with the Mercury spacecraft and Grissom at pad 5.

There was a separate audio track available for Shepard and Glenn, which has been added to the film but,
unfortunately, not for Grissoms piece to camera.
