Animated Rendering of Dome Restoration Project Scaffolding
While the U.S. Capitol Dome is undergoing restoration a scaffold system will surround the entire Dome, from the base of the Statue of Freedom down to the Dome Skirt. At night the scaffolding will be lit as work continues.
This animation shows a rendering of what the Dome will look like during the project as the scaffolding is installed and removed.
UPDATE: This once-in-a-generation project was completed in 2016. Full details at www.aoc.gov/dome. Watch the celebration video at https://youtu.be/azMdEHP-FL0.
