How to install WINDOWS 11 on the Surface Book (Gen 1) 💻🔥

How to upgrade to Windows 11 on the Microsoft Surface Book 1 for free.

When you use the PC Health Check app on a first generation Surface Book, it will say that your CPU is unsupported.

The Surface Book already has TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, plenty of ram, and everything else you need for Windows 11 - the only thing that will hold you back is the CPU.

But luckily, Microsoft has published a way for us to bypass the check for the CPU.

Keep in mind, this process could screw-up your system! Only try this if you are comfortable with the risk.

After installing Windows 11 Pro on a Surface Book 1, everything I have tested still works.

Attach and Detach work. Touch works. The keyboard works, etc... We have also received a couple Windows updates since the install.

Again, there is always a risk when messing with the Registry, but if you are comfortable with that, here's the links mentioned in the video:

(btw, if you don't see the MoSetup folder in the registry, you need to install ALL updates to Windows 10 first)

If you have other computers you want to upgrade to Windows 11 this way, be sure to keep the USB flash drive with the Windows 11 installer on it. You can re-use this same drive, and you don't need to re-download Windows 11.
