1968 Mercury Park Lane | 1961 Monarch Richelieu | Full Size Canadian Fords | Nova Scotia

On this episode of My Classic Car Dennis gets a chance to drive a couple of Canadian Fords, a '68 Merc Park Lane Convertible, and a '61 Monarch Richelieu, through Hammonds Plains Nova Scotia. You won't find these in the states! This rose Merc Parklane is long, straight, and the top of the line for that year, and is accompanied by all the chrome you'd expect. 19 and a half feet long, it is built for cruising, with every interior option available to make riding in that pair of couches as comfortable as possible. Pulling this sharp, full size Ford is a 428 Super Marauder Engine. It truly is a driver.
Stepping back a bit in time, the '61 Monarch Richelieu is a rare bird. With a golden crown spearheading a beautiful grill, you can't help but get caught in it's gaze. Kinda Ford, kinda Merc, and all Canadian, this was the last year for Monarch. It's a 4 door post, but very appealing, with a finely restored interior, a very Ford dash, but yet again a very Merc rear end. With a clean 352 restored to original, you wouldn't think it's a driver, but drive it does. Drive they both do, and you couldn't ask for a better day, or a better place, to do some cruising.
