#fixationoftissue
Tissue fixation is the process of preserving tissue and cells so they can be examined and analyzed. It's a key step in preparing tissue for examination under a microscope or for staining and processing.
Fixation is the preservation of biological tissues from decay due to autolysis or putrefaction. It terminates any ongoing biochemical reactions.

Laboratory animals can be procured from commercial vendors, approved sources, or other institutions. The process for procuring lab animals varies by institution.
Procurement process
Approval: All animals must be approved by an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Vendor: Animals must be purchased from approved vendors
Protocol: Animals must be included in an approved animal care and use protocol
Ordering: Animals may be ordered through a designated office or system
Delivery: Animals may be delivered directly to an animal facility
Procurement considerations
Animals used for scientific purposes should not be obtained from pet stores
Animals captured in the field should be reported to the IACUC
Transfer request forms may be required when transferring animals between facilities.
