Bathroom Closet Demo Short Version! How to remove a closet.

On this episode I demo the bathroom closet! I am trying to use every bit of footage that was recorded. So you can see every step of the way.

Removing the closet was the best decision. There was so much termite damaged wood at the base. After I removed the closet it had a bad smell that took a couple of days to dissipate. The overall demo process was pretty smooth. There was a couple of nails I couldn't remove from the wall: I can grind them off later if need be.

I have to say the space the closet occupied was a lot of real-estate in that bathroom. It is a nice sized bathroom. With the closet gone it really opens up more floor space to move around. The door opens more freely now. I do plan on adding wood beam vertical storage from floor to ceiling. It will be tight to the wall and it will add a tremendous amount of storage without occupying so much space. You wont be able to hang clothing in there anymore. However, the front room will have plenty of clothing racks.

I plan on keeping the concrete look. I am just going to add a topcoat of wunderfixx to unify the entire room. Once I finish removing all the tile and drywall compound from the wall, that is. The plan is to just gut the entire space. Leave it more minimalistic and mid-century modern. With a touch of artistic industrialism.

Anyway, the entire process of destroying the closet was a lot of fun. I love taking things apart and redoing a space. Out with the old and in with the new. My little helper Zipolito helped me clean up!
