REPLACING FRONT TRUCK T STUD & SPRING ON LIONEL 671/681 TURBINE

In this video at we repair and restore the front truck assembly on a Lionel 671 turbine by replacing the worn T-stud and collapsed suspension spring. The old stud is carefully drilled out using a 1/16-inch drill bit, taking care to stay centered and avoid enlarging the original mounting hole. After removing the worn components, a new cup washer and spring are installed to restore proper suspension to the front truck. To securely set the new T-stud, a simple jig made from steel L-brackets is used to hold the stud firmly and keep it perfectly aligned while the rivet is peened over with controlled taps. Once the stud is properly seated, the protective tape is removed and the repair is inspected, showing the stud firmly secured and the new spring providing proper tension and movement once again. This step-by-step repair demonstrates careful drilling, proper alignment, and safe riveting techniques to bring this classic Lionel turbine locomotive back to proper operating condition.#lioneltrains#modelrailroad,#o-scale,#repair,#trains,#tipsandtricks#lionel#servicing#diy-- GRAMPY'S WORKBENCH MUST-HAVES ---
