When we talk about free love, what we usually mean is free sex. And that is not much. That is not enough.
“Possible Pasts” is a beautiful tale about love. Love, that erases age and gender and transcends freudian reductionist interpretations. Love, that doesn’t have to be anything. It can even be sensual without being sexual.
The viewer sees two women in a small apartment, which is like a spaceship for them. During this one night nothing else exists. And nothing of what a viewer typically expects in this situation will happen. Both their lives are condensed to a few minutes of screen time, but, strangely enough, there’s no need to rush.
