Persian Shrimp Rice (Meygoo Polo) - Cooking with Yousef

Hi Friends -

Today, we make one of my family's favorite dishes called "Meygoo Polo"
(میگو پلو) which translates as, "Shrimp Rice" or "Prawn Rice". I learned this recipe from my wife, whose family comes from the South of Iran where they specialize in seafood, and it leans on the spicy side.

There are of course regional variations of this dish, and this one includes raisins that add a bit of sweetness to complement the spiciness. When we serve this at get-togethers, we never have any left-overs as this is what everyone reaches for.
