2022 NAS Annual Meeting: Special Session on the Situation in Ukraine
This session provided an update from the National Academies staff who are working directly with their international colleagues to provide support during this time of crisis: Vaughan Turekian, executive director of the NRC's Policy and Global Affairs Division; Franklin Carrero-Martinez, senior director for global sustainability; and Rita Guenther, a senior program officer whose portfolio includes Russia. After their review of the current situation in Ukraine, its short- and medium-term implications for Ukrainian science, and the actions that the NAS is undertaking in response, a Q/A session was held.
