Here I present an album of photographs of the city of Mink, taken around the turn of the 20th century.
Minsk was part of the Russian Empire when the pictures were taken. Today, Minsk is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Belarus of Belarus

The founding of Minsk dates back to the 11th century when it was a provincial city within the principality of Polotsk. In 1242, Minsk became a part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and was granted town status in 1499. As a consequence of the Second Partition of Poland in 1793, Minsk was annexed by the Russian Empire……
