"Mickey Saves Christmas" Director David H Brooks from 2023 Children's & Family Emmys Red Carpet

David H. Brooks was nominated in the "Directing for a Preschool Animated Program" for his work on Disney's "Mickey Saves Christmas." The half-hour holiday special introduced the world to Mickey Mouse and all of his pals in a stop-motion animated format, reminiscent of the classic holiday specials by Rankin/Bass. Ahead of the ceremony, we talked to David on the red carpet about his love of the stop-motion medium, classic Mickey Mouse shorts, and his other specials, "Mickey & Friends Trick or Treats" and the new "Mickey's Christmas Tales" series of shorts.
