Which State Made Education Free from KG to PG? Will It Be Implemented Across India?

In a landmark education reform, Odisha has announced free education from Kindergarten (KG) to Post-Graduation (PG) in all government schools, colleges, and higher educational institutions. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with the initiative expected to benefit over 10 lakh students in the state.

The policy aims to make education more inclusive and reduce the financial burden on families, especially students from economically weaker sections and girls. Odisha has described this as one of the first such comprehensive KG-to-PG free education initiatives in the country. The scheme is expected to be implemented after final approval and notification of its modalities.
