Erbil cracks down on street vendors in bazaar cleanup

Municipal crews in Erbil have begun removing street vendor tables from in front of the city's central bazaar, part of a temporary effort to reorganize the market area. The move has drawn criticism from vendors, some of whom say they were given only one night’s warning.

A city official, Aram Rasul, said the campaign is not meant to harm livelihoods but to streamline public space.
