December 1932 was another low-point Hitler, in which the Party could have been split by Schleicher, but an unexpected opportunity appeared in the form of another plan by Von Papen, who was motivated by a personal ambition for revenge against Schleicher who had ousted him from the Chancellorship a few weeks earlier.
