UConn Highlights: Marcus Williams - Sophomore Season (2004-2005)

As a Sophomore in 2004-05: Starter at the point guard spot... Averaged a BIG EAST-leading 7.8assists (No. 3 in the nation) and won the league assist title with 8.4 assists per game in league games...Named the 2004-05 BIG EAST Most Improved Player... Named All-BIG EAST Third Team... Named an honorable mention All-America by CNN/SI.com... Scored in double figures in ten of the last 11 games and13 of the last 16 after only accomplishing the feat three times in his first 31 career games... Had ten or more assists eight times this season... Scored a career-high 22 points in the season finale against NC State... Had 14 points and ten assists in BIG EAST Quarterfinal win over Georgetown... Finished the regular season with his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and handing out ten assists in the win over Syracuse... Had a near triple-double with 17 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in the win over Notre Dame... Had a 15-point, 13-assist double-double in 47 minutes in the win at Providence... Played 36minutes and had a then career-best 18 points vs. North Carolina despite having strep throat... Matched his career-high and his UConn single game record with 16 assists at Notre Dame, adding ten points, five rebounds and three steals... Had 11 assists vs. Pittsburgh... Had 16 points, along with seven rebounds and eight assists at Oklahoma... Had his first career double-double in the win over Quinnipiac, scoring a career-best ten points and handing out ten assists... Registered a UConn single game record 16 assists in the win over Central Connecticut... Had 54 assists in the six UConn exhibition games (9.0 per game).
