Easy and Refreshing Turkish Cold Yogurt Soup, Ayran Aşı

Ayran Aşı (Ayran in Turkish generally refers to salted yogurt drink and "aş" means food) is a traditional cold soup perfect for those scorching summer days. Hailing from the heart of Anatolia, this dish is a celebration of simple, wholesome ingredients coming together in harmony.

Ayran Aşı boasts a symphony of flavors, blending creamy yogurt with tender cooked whole wheat, fresh herbs, and hearty chickpeas. What makes this version special? Unlike its winter counterpart which is cooked and made with vegetables such as courgette / zucchini, sometimes spinach, this version is simple and served chilled, making it a go-to choice for beating the summer heat.

With just a handful of staple ingredients and limited cooking required, it's a breeze to whip up in your own kitchen.
