Tourettes Guy Buried Alive

20 years ago today on Christmas day in the year 2000 the first Tourettes Guy video was shared. A VHS tape featuring a 25 minute video of a day in the life of a unique man named "Danny" (Who would later go on to be known as "The Tourettes Guy" on the internet.) was given as a Christmas gift. Only about a dozen people were lucky enough to see that first video, but lots of people got to hear some of the audio from it because the people who filmed with Danny got a kick out of putting Danny's vulgar rants on their answering machines as a way to deal with all the telemarketers that were calling people back then.

In the year 2001 more videos were filmed with Danny, but this time they were filmed with a digital camera and shared on-line. There was no YouTube or anything like it back then, so the first actual on-line videos of Danny were shared using person-to-person file sharing programs like "Kazaa", "Grokster", "Limewire", etc. The people who film Danny would leave their computers on 24/7 in the hopes that someone out there would connect and find the videos they were capturing, and in 2002 they put a few of his videos on a personal website as well. But for the most part Danny remained virtually unknown during this time period.

In the year 2003 Danny suddenly became gained internet fame because somehow a few of his videos ended up being shared on several popular websites. But because Danny's name wasn't mentioned in any of the videos that went viral nobody knew what his name was, so everyone simply referred to him as "The Tourettes Guy", and that is how, why, and when his name started.

Tourettes Guy was one of the very first, and is currently one of the longest running, video series in internet history. But sadly almost all of the footage that was filmed of Danny before he was known as "Tourettes Guy" was lost due to the fact that not a lot of people downloaded his earliest videos and the fact that the old camera tapes and CD roms that the footage was being stored on no longer working. (But perhaps there is someone out there reading this right now who was a fan of Danny before he was actually known as "The Tourettes Guy", and who might still have a really old computer in their house with a really old clip of Danny still on it that could be re-uploaded as "lost" footage.)

In the year 2004 a website called www.tourettesguy.com was formed, and although it was created and run completely by fans it became the official website for Tourettes Guy, and anyone who was a fan back then will remember that almost every Tourettes Guy video that was on-line back then h ad the official www.tourettesguy.com logo on it.

In the year 2005 YouTube started and it quickly became the largest free video sharing site on the internet, and it also ended up becoming the website that most people around the world would discover, watch, and share Tourettes Guy videos, and 15 years later it is where new videos are shared, so please subscribe for future videos.

Ever since the very first video of Danny was shared 20 years ago these videos have always been free gifts that we want to share with the world because we recognize that there is something about Danny's unusual outburst that can provide not only entertainment but even therapeutic benefits for those who love him. Countless people have let us know over the years that these videos helped get them through some really hard times in their life. And anyone who wishes to use any of the footage or audio from this channel for their own creative projects is not only welcome but encouraged to do so. (Some of the best Tourettes Guy videos ever made are definitely fan edits!)

All we ask in return from fans is to please respect Danny's private life. Due to how many people have seen his videos over the years it is literally impossible for him to leave his house anymore without being recognized, and this is one of the main reasons that long time periods often go by where he refuses to be on camera. So if someday you happen to be out n public and you suddenly see The Tourettes Guy himself in person please do not approach him and say anything about these videos, and if you happen to know something about his personal life such as which bars he likes to go to please do not post that information on the world wide web where not only his fans but even the people who don't like his videos can see it, because doing so will only make the chances of future videos a lot less likely.
