Emini or Forex. E-mini S&P 500 Futures versus trading forex. Is it better for beginners to trade emini's as opposed to forex? Are emini index futures better to daytrade than forex? Are futures like S&P or Forex better to day trade?

Which are better to trade - the E minis or Forex? This is a question that get asked quite a lot. There are people who are trading forex and doing well and there are traders who trade e-minis profitably as well. Eminis are things like the S&P 500 or DOW. In the USA people say e-minis: S&P 500 versus Forex. I personally prefer the indices but that's a personal thing.

Trading FOREX vs Emini SP500

Here are some key differences:
Hours - Forex trades round-the-clock so there will always be opportunities to trade. Index are prone to gapping.
Spreads - Generally speaking forex spreads are tighter. For the major indices spreads are also quite tight.
When you're trading an index, you're trading a basket of shares and its really the valuation of those shares. With currencies you are trading two currencies against each other.
