N.C. COVID patient: 'I don't know when I'm going home'

After being in the hospital for nearly four weeks, Johnny Ramsey, an unvaccinated COVID patient at Johnston Health, realizes that getting vaccinated may have prevented him from missing what he loves most.

"Losing time away from my wife and my three kids that I can't hold, can't hug, can't kiss, can't pick up, can't play with during hat time," he said. "And that's time that's irreplaceable...and I'm still not home, and I don't know when I'm going home."

Johnny shared his thoughts as part of NCHA's 'Frontline Voices', a series of short videos featuring frontline healthcare workers sharing what it's like taking care of COVID patients as cases and deaths increase and patients sharing their current experiences with COVID.
