La Guajira is located in the far north of the country and in South America in the Caribbean region.

Due to its climatic conditions , it has unique ecosystems for example Parque Nacional Macuira which has a unique cloud forest ecosystem in the country that functions as a water regulator for the region, it is an oasis in the middle of the aridity that sustains a great diversity of fauna and flora, especially adapted to survive, grow and reproduce in this type of environment
