"Cantique de Noël" (aka "O Holy Night" in English) has always been one of my all-time favorite Christmas carols. In this clip, I am featuring the beautiful French version by the famous and very talented Italian artist Andrea Bocelli, a multi-instrumentalist and multi-linguist who became blind at the age of twelve. "Cantique de Noël" is a French Christmas carol, derived from a French poem written by Placide Cappeau, known as "Minuit, Chrétiens." The English lyrics were written by Minister John Sullivan Dwight. Although the English version is not the exact translation of the original French version, both versions are equally sacred and beautiful.

Here's the literal English translation of the French original lyrics:

Midnight, Christians, it's the solemn hour,
When God-man descended to us
To erase the stain of original sin
And to end the wrath of His Father.
The entire world thrills with hope
On this night that gives it a Savior.
People kneel down, wait for your deliverance.
Christmas, Christmas, here is the Redeemer,
