Severe Weather Outlook, October 2021–April 2022
Severe weather can occur at any time of the year, but October to April is the peak period for bushfires, heatwaves, flooding, tropical cyclones, and severe thunderstorms in Australia.
So, what can we expect in the months ahead?
▪️ An increased risk of widespread flooding for eastern and northern Australia
▪️ Average to slightly above average number of tropical cyclones
▪️ Normal bushfire potential in most states
▪️ Normal risk of heatwaves
▪️ Normal risk of severe thunderstorms.
