Salok Mahalla 9 (Nauvan) | Gurbani Kirtan | with English Translations

Celebrating 400 years of the Parkash Purab (coming into the world) of the 9th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Basics of Sikhi presents this beautiful Gurbani Kirtan of Salok Mahalla 9.

Salok Mahalla 9 are letters written by the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji in 1675 whilst being imprisoned in Delhi, India.

These letters were sent to the Sikhs in Sri Anandpur Sahib, including their mother, Mata Nanaki Ji, their wife, Mata Gujri Ji and their son, Sri Gobind Rai Ji, after the martyrdom of their three beloved Sikhs, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji.

These letters epitomise Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s true state of detachment and emphasise the precious opportunity given to us in this life to connect to Vaheguru Ji.
