ANEMA E CORE | Stephanie Trick & Paolo Alderighi

A lovely composition representative of the "canzone napoletana," or the Neapolitan song. The songs in this tradition are passionate, romantic, and nostalgic, and they have gorgeous melodies. Some of the most beautiful Italian melodies come from the Neapolitan tradition.

"Anema e core" means "soul and heart" in the Neapolitan dialect and it was written in 1950 by Salve d’Esposito and Tito Manlio. Some notable Italian-American performers recorded it, like Perry Como, Dean Martin, Vic Damone, Jerry Vale, and Connie Francis.
