Samburu Kenya - Sasaab Safari 2016

Highlights of our Sr. Web Editor's November 2016 safari to Samburu National Reserve in North Central Kenya.

Scott: "We stayed at Sasaab Lodge, a Moroccan-inspired tented camp bordering the park, which features one of the most instagrammed plunge pools in Africa. Our hosts, Jacob, Kupiru, Scott, and Nikki were most hospitable, and we saw quite a bit of wildlife up close. I'll never forget that leopard outside our tent at midnight.

"It's riskier traveling in Kenya during the "short rains" season in November, but I felt confident because we were outside of an El Nino period. It paid off with magical sunsets, cheaper prices and a scarcity of other travelers."
