Watch with the Artist: Micke Johansson
Have you ever wondered what’s going through an artist’s mind as they’re making a piece in the Amphitheater Hot Shop? Here’s your chance to ask them directly.
For our next online event, watch with Swedish master glassmaker, Micke Johansson on Wednesday, May 20 at 1:00 pm EDT. The artist will be available to chat and answer your questions in real time as we watch this demonstration together.
Watch Johansson as he makes a beautiful piece of glass using the "double ariel" technique: layers of colored, patterned glass overlaid by clear glass. Johansson is considered the world’s master in this uniquely Swedish method of glassmaking that has its origins in Orrefors, Sweden in 1916.
