The unexpected pandemic in 2020 gave music producer James Lee an opportunity to spend time with his family in the U.S.A. Through sharing a story of how buying his family a car changed their lives, he realised, just like this pandemic, everyone has some life-changing moments. James debuted as a bassist in KPOP group Royal Pirates in 2011. In 2015, a tragic accident happened which nearly led to amputation of his left hand, and rendered him unable to play the bass any longer.
After 5 surgeries, James moved back to Los Angeles and decided to release the music written post accident in an album called “The Light EP”. Topping the charts internationally, ‘The Light EP’ hits top 10 in several countries as well as #1 in the Philippines and #2 in Singapore on iTunes. He currently writes, produces and works as Music Director for Artists in Asia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
