Telescope That Collapsed Is ‘Devastating’ Loss for Science

Sabrina Stierwalt is an extragalactic astrophysicist who is mourning the recent loss of the Arecibo Telescope in Puerto Rico. The massive telescope recently collapsed after several of its support cables failed. Stierwalt, who teaches at Occidental College and hosts the Everyday Einstein podcast, told Inside Edition Digital, “I wouldn't be a scientist without this telescope.” Despite its collapse, there are efforts afoot to rebuild and repair Arecibo. #InsideEdition
