Brexit Britain has 'soared ahead' while the European Union is 'lagging behind'

Spiked Online Editor Brendan O'Neill says Brexit Britain has "soared ahead" with its vaccination program while the European Union is "lagging behind" because the UK has the flexibility to make its own decisions.

"More than half the population here in the UK has been vaccinated - there's been a huge take-up. There hasn't been as much vaccine hesitancy as we feared there might be," he said.

"We were told that when Britain left the European Union, we'd be all on our own, we wouldn't be able to solve global problems like pandemics, we'd be at the back of the queue for vaccinations.

"It's a testament to the wise decisions taken by the British people over the last few years."
