Commenting on the issue of the singers, like Zamboni, who participated in the world premiere of Turandot at La Scala, I'd like to say that, unlike Zamboni and regrettably, the first Turandot (Rosa Raisa) and the first Calaf (Miguel Fleta) never recorded any excerpt of this beautiful opera. For me is most regretfully the case of my fellow countryman Fleta, never recording any of his two arias, because of the opinion of Giannandrea Gavazzeni, then assistant conductor to Toscanini at La Scala y a remarkable conductor who enjoyed a long career, who said that Fleta was the best Calaf that he never listened to. By the way Toscanini never recorded nor conducted again Turandot after the world premiere.
