Drone Farmington, New Mexico | Drone & Drive

If you get in the northwest of New Mexico, you need to see this beautiful small city, Farmington, New Mexico. I show both the drone view and a small downtown drive view, but you can only enjoy this city by walking around and talking with the locals :) This was a precision flight with me not getting the views I wanted. The FAA B4UFly App told me I was cleared for 200' which is much more than I need usually; however, the Aloft app told me I could only fly at 50'. This was the first time I have seen such a big discrepancy for permissions. Normally I am allowed to fly at the highest structure which in this case was about 75' for the antenna and about what I wanted to film at. As you saw a tree and a building on my route were both above the flight altitude of 50'. Thankfully with about seven years and thousands of hours experience I am comfortable flying anywhere and happy when I can :)

I practiced how to crash safely, how to fly with three propellers and how to ground the drone and drive to it. I practiced in snow, rain and extreme cold to make sure I understood the drones limitations before I went to the big cities. I handle a drone like I do a gun and I truly hope others do the same.
