How to Be Spiritual // How to be Sure You’re Following the Spirit of God

Today we are entering into session 16 of our 22-day challenge continuing in How to Be Spiritual. When we put our faith in Jesus, God sends us a new resident in us, Jesus.

How do we know He is in you?

1.He is consistent with scripture.

2.He is contrary to the flesh. He begins to uproot ways of thinking and living that don’t fit in the child of God’s life anymore. He then plants new ways of living and thinking into your life.

Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:21

3.He is community centered. He took people that were formerly hostile to each other and weaved them into families. He creates a desire to be diligent and eager to preserve the peace and unity that Christ purchased.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1

4.He is also Christ-exalting. He wants to focus your attention on the son of God, Jesus Christ, as we walk together.

He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
John 16:14

This week, we challenge you to ask the Lord for specific life changes you can make to follow the spirit and deepen your unity with the saints.
