BVM F-16 1:5 Scale CRASH 💥 | Warbird Event at Rice Area Aero Modelers Field | RC Jet Gone Wrong

This footage was captured by Pooley at the Rice Area Aero Modelers Field during an exciting warbird event. What started as a routine second flight of the day quickly turned into a dramatic moment when this BVM PNP F-16 1:5 scale jet went down.

The pilot, an extremely accomplished RC aviator with over 1,200 flights on this very airframe, demonstrated incredible confidence and skill throughout the flight. As seen in the video, his comfort level was high right up until the final moments. After the crash, you can even hear him laugh it off, acknowledging he was just slightly off on his calculations—an admirable attitude in the face of a costly incident.

For those familiar with turbine-powered RC jets, you already know this is no small loss. These aircraft represent a significant investment, making moments like this tough—but it's all part of the passion for the hobby. Pilots like this are what make the RC community so great, and I’m honored to have captured and shared this moment and meet this individual and spend some time with him.

In the final frames of the video, I added an arrow highlighting where the turbine was ejected, landing approximately 50–100 feet ahead of the main crash site.
