1930s Inspired White Tie Ensemble

Here’s a quick #GRWM featuring my 1938 evening tailcoat!

The Tailcoat and matching trousers are bespoke from 1938. Grosgrain lapels and a thick grosgrain stripe on the pants.

The vest and grosgrain opera hat are from @reesesvintagepieces - also mid 1930s! I love that the top hat matches the lapels and the side stripe.

I added pearl buttons that belonged to my great Grandmother. She collected a treasure trove of vintage buttons (all kept in a 1970s jelly jar) from many different eras. I used two others to make cufflinks.

The evening shirt is from @darcyclothingmenswear

It’s the “attached collar” model- one day I’ll upgrade it to a detachable model, but for now this one works quite well.

Finally got my hands on a great pair of evening oxfords, and proper white suspenders.

And the bow tie is sewn by me!
